Whew, Cool. I can't have both of us thinking I'm dumb.
With the price of rebuilds of these air cooled motors, I'm surprised there aren't more of these out there. A sorted base early 80s 911 is what? $25K? With rebuilds costing at least half of that, I can see people ditching the broken lump for something that works.

There are few things I like more than cars that have engines that don't belong. As long as they are odd. LS motors get a pass because they are 'Murican perfection in metal form.
